10:20pm edit: The Canadian model came in with much higher ice amounts through Saturday evening than the other models indicated. Should this model be correct, that would lead to more power outages across the OKC and TULSA metro areas. The bulk of this ice accumulation occurs Friday night into Saturday morning. I’ll continue to watch trends through tomorrow.

FREEZING DRIZZLE WITH A FEW ROUNDS OF VERY LIGHT FREEZING RAIN WILL OCCUR FRIDAY AS TEMPERATURES REMAIN BELOW FREEZING ACROSS CENTRAL AND WESTERN OKLAHOMA. THE FREEZING LINE WILL EXTEND FROM ROUGHLY MIAMI TO EAST OF TULSA TO NEAR ADA NORTH OF ARDMORE TO LAWTON. ALONG AND WEST OF THIS LINE EXPECT ICY ROADWAYS. TEMPERATURES WILL WARM ABOVE FREEZING ALONG AND EAST OF I-44 BY NOON ON SATURDAY AND THE PRECIPITATION WILL TRANSITION BACK INTO RAIN ACROSS C OK. FREEZING RAIN WILL CONTINUE IN W AND NW OK THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT. TEMPERATURES WILL WARM ABOVE FREEZING FOR THE REST OF OKLAHOMA SUNDAY MORNING AS ADDITIONAL SHOWERS AND STORMS MOVE THROUGH THE STATE. TOTAL ICE ACCUMULATIONS WILL VARY FROM 0.25 TO 0.5 INCHES OVER C/NE OK ALTHOUGH A FEW AREAS MAY APPROACH 0.75 INCHES NEAR THE I-44 CORRIDOR. AS MUCH AS 1 TO 1.5″ OF ICE ACCUMULATION WILL OCCUR IN PARTS OF W AND NW OK. ON SUNDAY ADDITIONAL RAIN TOTALS WILL BE BETWEEN 1 TO 2 INCHES WHICH MAY CAUSE SOME FLOODING. THE STORM SYSTEM EXITS THE STATE SUNDAY NIGHT.
