It looks like this weekend will be the first time many across the state flirt with the freezing mark. Although a few may experience it Saturday morning in NW OK, most of us will be in the deep freeze on Sunday morning as the model image indicates. Afternoon highs will be quite cool as well, 50s on Saturday and low 60s on Sunday.
The next cold front won’t arrive in time for Halloween, so it looks warm for the trick-or-treater’s.

That front arrives the next day triggering more severe storms Wednesday afternoon across the eastern and southern parts of the state. The OKC metro will be right on the fringe of activity. Map is a radar snapshot generated by the model data.
