We’ve escaped most of the month from rounds and rounds of severe storms. Typically Memorial Day Weekend sees a lot of action. Not this year. However, mother nature is trying to make up for it a day late.

A cluster of storms will weaken as they move through NW/N/C OK by daybreak. A second round of severe storms will develop across NW OK by late Tuesday afternoon. This cluster of storms will form an MCS that will track into the OKC metro area by early to mid evening. Large hail and damaging wind is expected with this system. A couple of isolated supercells may develop across W/SW OK by late afternoon. Should they form, large hail initially, then a very small window for a couple of tornadoes if moisture can get a little deeper in time by sunset.

The map shown below is the forecasted model radar image indicating storms arriving into C OK after 8pm.

MCS (line of severe storms) will move into C OK around 8pm and into OKC metro.
