We’ll see a round of severe thunderstorms develop along the KS border and travel southward during the evening in a NW flow aloft. This will allow weaker surface to mid-level winds have more of a relative component taking into account the movement.
What this means is that the storms will be severe with damaging winds and large hail possible. There is a brief potential for an isolated tornado between 9pm and midnight as the storms move through the OKC metro area. The possibility is extremely low, but not zero. Consider it more of a freak occurrence should it happen, but I wanted you to be aware so you’ll pay attention. Many of you will be out on the town or getting into bed early.
Keep my free weather app handy, ATsWeatherToGo. It will alert you of rapidly changing weather conditions and give you an early warning other apps can’t do. In addition, I highly recommend a NOAA Wx Radio and I have the one I picked out on my Amazon store. Dozens of you have purchased it recently and are more than trilled with the device. You can get a discount here: https://www.amazon.com/shop/ATsWeather
