In my last blog on Sunday we discussed the drought and the brief relief for NW OK from a little rain that occurred yesterday and this morning. Now that the rain is evaporating, it’s back to the drought again.
Here is the latest on the drought expansion in just a few short days time. As a reminder, you can always view the latest drought conditions under the weather data menu tab on my website. I also have a lot of other useful information listed you might find of interest.
Temperatures won’t be all that great either, but at least we should stay clear of 100’s in OKC. Parts of W and NW OK will still see those numbers though. However, you can see a cool-down coming several days down the road.
Outside of a stray shower or storm later down the road in far NW OK, the next big change will be from a cold front moving into the state on the 20th of the month. This will cool things down and should provide some widespread, and much needed, rainfall. Models hint at maybe getting an inch or two out of it. Fingers crossed!!!
