The focus on this forecast period will be the below normal temperatures to start the week and the above normal to end it. Rain once again will be hard to come by.
We’ll start off with the good news. We got a much needed break on Sunday as temperatures were as much as 20 degrees cooler over parts of the state. This cooler weather will continue through midweek. Kansas will really see the biggest change as their highs will be as much as 30 degrees below normal on Monday!
The Jetstream gives us a clue as what to expect. Some upper level energy swings through Monday night/Tuesday morning and again Friday through Sunday. This should help to trigger a few showers or storms, but most of us will stay dry. At the start of the week the best area of coverage would be west, and across the east over the weekend. As the upper ridge tries to build on top of us, the heat will also return for the holiday weekend.
Here is a look at temperatures expected on the 4th. They will be much above normal.
The extended outlook shows the dramatic rise over the 9 day period.
