Rinse and Repeat with More Heat
It could be worse! Another week of heat, but a silver lining.
Last week, a system came through on Friday, providing some rain across the region. We have an opportunity for a repeat, but otherwise the heat will be the main story.
The Jetstream keeps the center of the upper ridge out west across Colorado and then retrogrades westward by the weekend. This keeps us in a NW flow aloft, which can bring us a surprise storm cluster that rotates along the ring of fire from Colorado, through Kansas, and into Oklahoma. There are two signals: late Wednesday and late Thursday, and possibly Saturday. Outside of this low-probability risk, it will remain hot, dry, and humid.

Regarding any rainfall, it should be confined to the E 1/3 of the state as these clusters would rotate around the edge of the high.

Keep heat safety in the back of your mind this time of year.

The temperature trend for OKC is hot, obviously. Let’s hope those extended numbers stay in the 90s! -AT
