AT’s Weather Moves to Subscription Based Format
AT’s Weather has been providing free social media weather content since 2010. In 2014 that content included live weather forecast discussions, live tornado coverage, and a free weather app. At the time, monetization wasn’t available and the effort was supported by generous gifts from you and my own pocketbook. Around 2019 platforms allowed content creators to earn revenue. Since then, grifters and con artists have dominated the landscape taking advantage of clickbait-style engagement farming to skew the algorithms in their favor. That left very little revenue for legitimate, valued, and creative individuals like myself. As a result, like many other creators struggling in this saturated environment, my weather content will be for subscribers only. Yes, this includes my live tornado coverage.
I have outlined the many options in which you can support me below. The platforms allowing you to watch the restricted content will be limited to the Facebook Subscriber section and private group page, Locals, IG, TikTok, and YouTube. NOTE: You must watch from the platform you signed up with unless you also want the option to join the Facebook private group. For example, if you join YT, you can watch there or in the private FB group. If you join Patreon, you will watch in the FB group. Message me for the link. If you join the FB Fan Subscriber option, you don’t have to join the FB private group page, but you are welcome to. As you will see content on the main weather page as normal.
Subscription Support Options
***Facebook is placing some on a waitlist. This is what I came across: “If Facebook is placing you on a waitlist to subscribe to a creator, it likely means that the “Subscriptions” feature is not yet fully available to you, either because your account is too new, your region isn’t currently supported for subscriptions, or Facebook is managing access to the feature in a controlled rollout, potentially due to high demand or testing purposes.” You can wait a while or try a different payment option or platform above.
Any of the options above will grant you access to the private content. If you join with any of the “non-facebook” options, send me a DM or email and I’ll send you the link to the private FB Group Page. You must answer all of the questions on that group to gain access and send me the subscription receipt, or it’s an auto-denial, and possibly a permanent ban. So read and answer the questions! In addition, after you subscribe you will need a login and password to access parts of this website. Look for the announcement on the platform you are on and check your email.

No idea. Facebook does this for a small few. Try to cancel and pick a different platform option.
2. How long before I get accepted into the group?
When I get time to log in, verify you are a member, and authorize your submission. Following the rules by answering questions and providing receipt speeds things up.
3. How do I get into the group?
You’re provided the link after signing up for a subscription.
4. How do I send you the receipt?

5. Am I subscribed? Can you check?
I have no idea. Check the platform you signed under and your payment processor for a receipt. For Facebook Fan Subscriptions, you’ll have a badge next to your name and the word subscriber.
6. What else do I need to do?
Once subscribed, request private group access if you like, otherwise nothing.
7. Do you have a family plan?
Yes, spouses are free. Kids are at a discount but must be above 13.
8. When is this starting?
Now. Come March 1st I will be extremely busy, so authorizing requests will take much longer and you could sit for days or weeks. Get in before storm season.
9. Will you be offering free weather?
Forecasts and live broadcasts will be for members only. We’re condensing our group and entering into a symbiotic relationship where we both value each other’s time, money, work, family, etc.
10. Does this affect your app?
Possibly in the future, but for now, not at this time.
11. What is the cost?
Tier levels vary but in most cases $2.49-2.99/mo
12. Can I pay yearly?
Yes, but only through Paypal, Venmo, or Patreon
13. Can I watch on a different platform like YouTube if I join Facebook?
No. You must watch and consume the content on the platform you join. That is controlled by them. However, I can place anyone into the private FB group. For example, you can join YT and watch there, or you can watch on the FB group page.
14. What about X (Twitter)?
Sorry, Elon screwed that up and only rewards creators that engagement farm to open up subscriptions. So you’ll have to subscribe elsewhere to receive content. That means the live videos will no longer be broadcast on that platform.
